The Treehouse Chronicles by S. Peter Lewis & T.B.R. Walsh
Book of the week: Who doesn’t dream of building a kickass treehouse? But this Peter Lewis guy takes it way beyond that. Along with his teenage son and some buds, Lewis builds a 250 sq.ft, two-storey timberframe treehouse with mortise and tenon joints and a secret lift-able ladder. And he chronicles the whole thing with the patience and joy of a true artist (plus some sweet photos and water colour illustrations). This one is about realizing a dream in the best way possible and why one of the great parts about growing up is that you have access to all the good tools. Best of all, they built this beautiful treehouse on a suspended iron collar and never put a single screw, nail or fastener hole into the trunk of their pine tree. Inspiring read about what’s important and how to get there. (Also, don’t let the shit yoga-wellness Papyrus title font turn you off, this book is killer.)
