For the Love of Men by Liz Plank
Book of the week is a real humdinger from one of the hardest working journalists in the game. Liz Plank walks us through the idea that the way we raise our boys (don’t cry, don’t ask for directions or help, suck it up, nutt up or shut up, suppress those feelings, and take it like a man) is doing a grave disservice to everyone. Written with a superb mix of humour, wit and clear examples of her points, Plank explains that if we want to build a better future, for women and children especially, we need a new path forward for men. (There’s a reason all those school shooters are dudes.) As a father, this one spoke to me.
