Apocalypse: How to Survive a Global Crisis by Dan Martin
The COVID virus is gaining momentum so the book of the week is this fucking awesome collection of theories about how it’s all gonna go down and how you can be among the last ones standing, picking away at the bones of civilization and patting yourself on the shoulder for seeing things through to the end. But around page 135 it shifts gears into super amazing tips and tricks for surviving: like how to make a pipe shotgun or a rocket stove out of tin cans. Or how to cultivate yeast, make tortillas, or hotwire a car.
I totally forgot about this book until today when I gave my son the task of checking all the items in the survival backpack (Katana?? Check!) Everyone has a survival backpack right? The Canadian Red Cross will sell and ship a decent starter pack, but you gotta boost it with shit like this book, powdered Ceasar mix and vodka, and LSD. Stay safe friends, this is just a practice round but there’s lots to learn here.
