Dj Surgeon’s Fantastic Voyage
“If music be the food of love, play on…”
William Shakespeare said that, and while I don’t think acid was invented back in those days, it did occur naturally in the molds that would grow on rye bread (which kind of explains a lot, including why those old medieval fuckers kept calling each other witches).
In any case, Billy Shakes was correct: when it’s good you do just want more, especially if the tabs are coursing in your favour. Which reminds me of this time DJ Surgeon played on a giant catamaran in Mexico with 60-70 of the best partiers in Canada on board. There is a time and a place for any song really, and this time and place worked out real nice for these ones. Summertime grooves.
DJ Surgeon had this to say about the set:
“What do you call 70 good friends on a 60′ custom catamaran, with an open-bar & booming sound system, celebrating our amazing friends’ wedding, while cruising Mexico’s Banderas Bay on a glorious sunny day? Fantástico viaje!
This is a polished version of the marathon set I played upon said party boat earlier this month. 2.5 hours of funky feel-good beats, chock-full of sunshine and love!
Playing tracks by: Le Sexe Faible, Big Gigantic, Blackstreet, Anderson.Paak, A-Skillz & Krafty Kuts (ft. Real Elements), and more.”
Pie Playlists are mixtapes, radioshows, or DJ sets featuring extended chunks of kickass music we like getting down to. There is no set genre or format, the only criteria is it has to be good. **Header collage by Feet Banks with Dave Barnes**
