Book: Beastie Boys Book

Avatar

Beastie Boys Book by Mike Diamond & Adam Horowitz

Book of the week is 550 pages about one of the most interesting bands of my generation, written with wit, humour and just enough nostalgia by the two remaining dudes who lived it. Every album, tons of tangents, a few guest writers and so many killer photos. Adrock and Mike D swap short essays (with killer “footnote” interjections) so the whole thing is fun, digestible and a must read for anyone who likes music or needs some DIY punk rock inspiration. There’s even a cookbook inspired by tracks from Paul’s Boutique. This baby is 60 bucks but worth every cent.

Update: The obvious companion to this is the Beastie Boys Story live documentary film, released in the spring of 2020. Check my review.
